Campus Map We will be staying in the South Courts. They occupy the large patch of green that was alongside the two South Towers. There are 6 rooms to a flat and each room has its own onsuite. There is small central kitchen. I shall be arriving on Thursday evening, and am trying to negociate getting the keys on Friday morning. The email confirming the booking says they will not be available until 1pm. Last thing I want to do is join a long queue mid afternoon.
If you are driving please print out a copy of the parking permit I have emailed you. During the holidays parking is free (they do now charge in term time) so strictly speaking I don’t think the permits are necessary, but it is probably best to follow the given istructions. I was a trend setter taking a car to University, now everyone does it so parking is a real problem – to cope there is now even a multi-story car park on the South of the Campus.
For those driving please take note that you can no longer drive down the Boundary Rd from the large roundabout. There is a bus gate you will not be able to get through. You should now exit the roundabout on the A133 and drive clockwise up the hill, turing right onto Boundary Rd, and then right again into Entrance 1. For those travelling by train the bus will take its old route and you can either get off at Valley Rd and walk under the Podium, off at the entrace to the South Courts and the South Towers.
On arrival you should contact me on 07943 111979.
There is now a Tesco mega store at the large roundabout so provisions are easy to source if the on-campus eating options are too dire (they have not improved I can assure you). I will ensure that we are stocked up on tea bags, milk and sugar. Breakfast is included in our package.
Strictly speaking on Sunday we have to return the keys by 9.30am. However this is the last weekend they rent out accomadation over the summer, and on previous visits we have just dropped the keys off in a box by the front door of the building. I am assuming this can be done again, avoiding the need to get up early of a Sunday.
Oh, and by the way, you each owe me £46.67 for the weekend.
